COPPETEC Foundation and Coordination of Graduate Programs in Engineering of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPEE/UFRJ) by means of the Energy and Environmental Planning Program (PPE)

Under this partnership, a contract was signed between MCT and the COPPETEC Foundation for the development of the project “Data Collection on Historical Contributions of Countries to the Emissions of Three Greenhouse Gases”, which includes the preparation of a study relative to the historical contribution of countries to global greenhouse gas emissions, viewing to obtain global historical data since the Industrial Revolution on the emission of three greenhouse gases per country, classified as: a) CO2 emissions relative to deforestation in a historical period of around 300 years; b) CO2 emissions from other activities other than deforestation; c) CH4 emissions; d) N2O emissions; and assess the contribution of each country with regard to the emission of three greenhouse gases. The budget for this project was set at R$ 30,247.36 (thirty thousand, two hundred and forty-seven reals and thirty-six cents), provided by MCT/Climate Change Program. A timeframe of 3 (three) months was established for the development of this project.
