This home page is the "host" of a colective job, coordinated by MCT and developed by several institutions and experts from energy, industry, forestry, agriculturel and livestocks, and waste management sectors, spread over all Brazilian regions.
This job, the so called "Brazilian National Communication for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change", aims at the preparation of the Brazilian inventory of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of all greenhouse gases not controlled by the Montreal Protocol, as well as a general description of steps taken or envisaged by Brazil to implement the Convention.
The document structure has the format defined on the document "Communications from Parties not Included in Annex I: Guidelines, Facilitation and Process for Consideration" approved as Decision 10/CP.2 conteined in the FCCC/CP/1996/15/Add.1 document on July 17 1996. The Brazilian document follows, in broad lines, the format of the National Communications of developed countries, in the extent it is applicable to Brazil.
The inventory will be developed, generally speaking, in accordance with the methodology of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, adding to or removing from, respectively, subjects that are country specific or do not apply to Brazil.
