Dr. Jose Domingos Gonzalez Miguez, General Coordinator on Global Change Research at the Ministry of Science and Technology Brazil, has been a driving force behind the creation and development of the Brazilian national web site on the Climate Convention. He has also long been an active participant in the UNFCCC process.

This paper arose from two weeks Dr. Miguez spent with CC:INFO/Web team at the UNFCCC secretariat's offices in June 1996. During this time, he provided the team with useful insights on issues and processes related to the creation of a national Climate Convention web site, and helped to shape the then-emerging CC:INFO/Web initiative.

The CC:INFO/Web team would like to express its gratitude to Dr. Miguez for his valuable contributions to the CC:INFO/Web initiative, and for introducing it to a new seed to be planted in the global garden of climate change related activities.
