According to Telegram no. 612, dated 9/19/2002, sent by the Ministry of External Relations – MRE to the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin, the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was officially informed by the Brazilian Government that the Interministerial Commission on Global Climate Change is the Designated National Authority for approval of projects within the ambit of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism, as stipulated in Art. 3, item IV, of the Presidential Decree of July 7, 1999, which instituted the referred to Commission.
