One of the commitments made by under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is to develop and periodically update national inventories of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sink of greenhouse gases not controlled by the Montreal Protocol, in addition to providing a general description of the steps taken or envisaged to implement the Convention. The document containing such information is called National Communication by the Convention.
