Purpose

Periodical preparation of the national annual inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and development of research into emission factors and activity levels in the sectors of energy, industry, solvent use, agriculture, land-use change and forestry, and waste treatment.

Implementation of actions

As the work relative to the inventory that is part of the initial National Communication is being concluded in 2004 and the BRA/05/G31 project document is being signed for the preparation of the Second National Communication of Brazil, technical studies will be carried out to provide inputs to and complement the work relative to the sectoral inventories that will be developed under the project, especially the inventory of the land-use change and forestry sector.
