The Ministry of Sciences, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) set the Multi-Sensory Exhibition Brazilian Biomes within an area of 1.6 thousand square meters. The structure, which allows a virtual trip to all Brazilian biomes, will be opened for visitation at the Rio+20 Conference, on 12-24, June, in the Sciences, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development area.
This exhibition, divided into five modules, aims to show the advance of the scientific knowledge on Brazilian biodiversity, raising visitors’ awareness on conservation and sustainable use issues. The exhibition will further allow the contact with nature for those people who live in urban environments.
The multimedia structure will be ordered per biomes, aggregating them per similarities in formation, as follows: Introductory Module (biodiversity); Open formations – Cerrado, Caatinga and Pampas; Pantanal; Coastal sea waters; large forests -Atlantic Forest and Amazon.
The visitor of the Rio+20 will meet several representatives of the flora and the fauna, as well as microorganisms, of Brazil. Among the interactive resources available, there are photographs, videos, displays, animal vocalizations and aromas of natural systems. The exhibition intends to offer the public a fun and instructive chance to learn on the importance of caring for nature.
