The Research and Project Funder (Finep/MCTI) will have a 3.5 thousand square meter area fully planned from a "green" design in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, the Rio+20. The funder's area, in Warehouse 3 of Pier Mauá, Port Zone, will host the exhibition "Innovation for the Sustainable Development".
Several companies and public and private institutions - among which Itaipu Binacional, Embraer and Embraco - will be present. The National Industry Confederation (CNI) and associated institutions have also confirmed their presence and will occupy a 300-m2-booth. All exhibitors will present innovative products, services and processes associated to the theme that guides the event.
Warehouse 4 has been assigned by the funder to the Ministry of Sciences, Technology and Innovation (MCTI). “The exposed projects will focus on the associated innovation with sustainability. The Funder, which is supporting the Rio+20 Conference with BRL3 million, wants to lead the support to the initiatives directed to the responsible growth from the environmental point of view”, states Alice Abreu, Head of International Cooperation Coordination, Finep.
Alice further stresses that another agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has also been executed, which will allow Finep to organize large international events associated to the innovation for sustainability.
Sustainability Forum
The Venture Forum Brasil Sustentável (Sustainable Brazil) will be held on the 15th and it will present innovative companies with performance focused on green technologies and companies that are outstanding in sustainability related components (social, environmental and economic sustainability) and potential investors in seed capital, venture capital and private equity. The selected companies will also have an area to exhibit their products and services at Finep's pavilion in the Conference.
