Conclusions

At its 5 th meeting, on 6 November, having considered a proposal by the Chairman, the SBSTA adopted the following conclusions:

(a) The SBSTA took note of the Chairman’s report (FCCC/SBSTA/2001/INF.5) on the workshop on "good practices" in policies and measures held at Copenhagen from 8 to 10 October 2001, pursuant to the request by the Conference of the Parties (COP) at the first part of its sixth session.1 The SBSTA expressed its appreciation to the Governments of Denmark and Norway for sponsoring this workshop;

(b) The SBSTA concluded that it would give further consideration to the workshop report and to what further action should be taken at its sixteenth session in advancing the work on "good practices" in policies and measures. To facilitate this, the SBSTA invited Parties to submit their views by 15 February 2002, within the terms of reference of the workshop, on such possible action;

(c) The SBSTA requested the secretariat to compile information on the policies and measures reported by Parties included in Annex I to the Convention in their third national communications, for consideration at its seventeenth session.
